# Apple iPhone 12 event could be scheduled for October 13

## According to a tipster who got in touch with AppleInsider, the event might be held on Tuesday, October 13 with preorders for the new iPhones starting the following Friday - October 16.

Apple is going to launch four iPhones - the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 mini, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max - soon. (REUTERS)

Apple’s much-awaited [Apple iPhone 12 event](https://tech.hindustantimes.com/mobile/iphone-12-lineup-might-be-called-iphone-12-mini-iphone-12-iphone-12-pro-and-iphone-12-pro-max-71600746706588.html) could be scheduled for October 13. While rumours continue to do the rounds, Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services has been speaking at presentations for a UK carrier about the upcoming iPhone and its rumoured 5G capabilities, reports AppleInsider.

It is being anticipated that Apple will be holding a special event soon though the date is still not confirmed. According to a tipster who got in touch with AppleInsider, the event might be held on Tuesday, October 13 with preorders for the new iPhones starting the following Friday - October 16.

This tip was sent by someone who self-identified as working for a carrier in the Netherlands. While there is no concrete evidence to corroborate the tip, the Apple Insider says that the message’s IP address is one within a range controlled by a carrier’s corporate network.

Besides this, in Europe, another carrier is gearing up for Apple’s launch and is expecting 5G connectivity. According to [AppleInsider](https://appleinsider.com/articles/20/09/22/apple-event-rumored-for-october-13-as-eddy-cue-promotes-services-to-uk-carrier-staff) and MacRumours, an internal presentation for BT and EE had British Telecom CEO Marc Allera declaring that Apple is very close to launching a 5G iPhone in a matter of days.

Allera told employees that they were just days away from Apple’s next major launch which is going to be a 5G iPhone. Allera added that teams have been preparing all year to win this launch and become Europe’s number one partner for Apple.

During the presentation, Cue appeared in a clip and congratulated EE for becoming the first carrier offering consumer smartphone plans that are bundled with multiple Apple services. It is ulcer though, if Cue mentioned 5G but given Apple’s love for secrets, it is highly unlikely.

Besides this, other rumours have indicated that Apple is going to launch four iPhones - the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 mini, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Rumors also suggest that the iPhone 12 is going to come with two 12-megapixel cameras while the Pro models will have three. The Pro models will also come with LiDAR sensors for depth mapping, enabling enhanced AR and photography functionality.
