Did iPhone 13 ad just use Bollywood song ‘Dum Maro Dum’ by RD Burman?
- During the showcase of iPhone 13, Apple released a new ad for the device with an interesting song as background score that reminds listeners of Bollywood song Dum Maro Dum by RD Burman, which was sung by Asha Bhosle.
Apple announced the iPhone 13 series at its California Streaming event last night. The company launched a plethora of devices including the iPad, iPad mini, Apple Watch Series 7 and the iPhone 13 lineup, which consists of four models - iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. During the showcase of iPhone 13, Apple released a new ad for the device. What's interesting about the advertisement is that it uses a track that most Indians would recognise - Bollywood song Dum Maro Dum, which was written by RD Burman. But is it what we think it is?
The iPhone 13 ad features a background score from 1971 song ‘Dum Maro Dum', which was originally produced by singer Asha Bhosle and RD Burman. It plays in the background as a delivery guy faces challenging events on his delivery route. The ad highlight's iPhone 13's endurance, Ceramic Shield, IP rating, and more. However, the actual song used in the ad is different. The iPhone 13 ad features ‘Work All Day' by Footsie, which samples the 1971 Bollywood hit.
However, the music was enough to get the fans rolling. Several people took to social media to post their reactions. Moreover, Screenwriter Aniruddha Guha shared part of the promotional video on Twitter and wrote, “Holy shit. The choice of song in the #iphone13series spot!”
