Dimensity 2000 leaks have started coming in ahead of the Snapdragon 898's announcement. MediaTek has so far teased its next-gen flagship chip to be the first 4nm mobile chip in the business and that it will be faster with better battery efficiency. But how fast? Thankfully, an AnTuTu listing of a mysterious Vivo device has shed light.

While details on the Snapdragon 898 are scarce at the moment, the alleged Dimensity 2000 chip has been spotted on a Vivo smartphone flexing its muscles on AnTuTu. Its score? a whopping 1 million! The Vivo prototype device with this upcoming MediaTek flagship chip managed to score 1,002,220, thereby making the highest score we have seen on the Android side of things.

Dimensity 2000 leaks with score of 1 million

The score of almost a million on AnTuTu isn't new, given that Apple Silicon chips have managed that score on the iPad Pro with the M1 chip. However, compared to the Snapdragon 888, this is a lot of raw power. Obviously, scores of the Snapdragon 898 aren't known yet but we expect to see both the Qualcomm and MediaTek lock horns throughout next year for the benchmark supremacy.

Rumours have so far suggested that the Dimensity 2000, Snapdragon 898 and Samsung Exynos 2200 will feature a Cortex-X2 core as the primary high-performance core in their processors. The differences are likely to be present with the GPU units, where Samsung will debut its AMD GPU, MediaTek may use a Mali GPU, and Qualcomm could use a newer Adreno GPU.

With the unveiling of the Snapdragon 898 on November 30, we could expect to see Motorola and Xiaomi announcing their high-end flagships for 2022 before the end of 2021.

What remains to be seen is how much of a gap exists between the Dimensity 2000 and Snapdragon 898 this year. So far, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 series chips have led by leaps and bounds in terms of raw performance over the Dimensity chips. The Dimensity 1200, which was the flasghip MediaTek chip for 2021, was only as good as Snapdragon 870, which was essentially a reworked version of the Snapdragon 865 from 2020.
