Apple gave us the first official glimpse of the iOS 14 last. And now all eyes are on iPhone 12, the first of Apple's smartphones that will get the company's next generation mobile OS. In the past couple of weeks reports have detailed everything from design to specs that are expected to make their way to the iPhone 12 series. Now, a new report gives us more details about the phones’ display.

As per a report by Ice Universe, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max are expected to come with a 120Hz display. “A reliable source, if there is no accident, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have basically determined the maximum 120Hz refresh rate,” the tipster tweeted.

As per a report by MacRumours, some iOS 14 developer beta users have started seeing a setting that limits the frame rate of the device to 60Hz. Although the setting is not available to all users, it does indicate that future iPhone models will be able to support higher screen refresh rates. At present 60Hz is the highest refresh rate offered by iPhones.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that reports about the iPhone 12 Pro sporting a 120Hz display have surfaced on the internet. XDA Developers’ Max Weinbach back in May had said that the iPhone 12 Pro could come with a 120Hz ProMotion Display, a 3x rear camera zoom, and improved Face ID functionality.

Apple is expected to launch four new iPhone models in fall this year. A 5.4-inch model with a dual rear camera setup, two 6.1-inch models one with a dual rear camera setup and the other with a triple rear camera setup, and a 6.7-inch model with a triple rear camera setup. All phones in the iPhone 12 series will come with an OLED display.
