Itel has expanded its product portfolio in India. The company has launched a new pocket-friendly smartphone dubbed as the Itel A48 and it comes at a price point that is under ₹7,000. Itel says that its newly launched A48 smartphone is targeted at people living in tier-2 to tier-5 towns. “Today in the new world order demand for entry-level smartphones has increased significantly to remain connected for both economic and social needs. Smartphones have become an essential part of the Indian families residing in Tier 2-5 towns as they are enabling access to Online education, Financial transactions, running a home business, Infotainment/Entertainment consumption needs and even working from home...This strategic initiative is in line with Itel's vision to provide digital freedom to the masses,” Arijeet Talapatra, CEO, TRANSSION India said on the occasion.

Itel A48 price and availability: The newly launched Itel A48 is priced at ₹6,399. It is already available for purchase across the country. As far as the offers are concerned, Itel said that customers who buy the Itel A48 and enroll for the JioExclusive offer would be entitled to instant price support of ₹512 and additional benefits worth ₹4000. Additionally, the newly launched Itel A48 smartphone comes with an assurance of a one-time screen replacement offer where consumers can avail a free one-time screen replacement of a broken screen within 100 days of purchase.

Itel A48 specs: As far as the features are concerned, the newly launched Itel A48 comes with a 6.1inch HD+ IPS display with a waterdrop notch. It comes with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and a resolution of 1560x720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor that is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space that can be expanded further using a memory card of up to 128GB space. It runs on the Android 10 Go Edition mobile operating system.

Coming to the camera, the Itel A48 comes with a dual 5MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 5MP selfie camera. The front 5MP selfie camera offers a bunch of modes that are aimed at helping users click images under various conditions. These include AI Beauty Mode and portrait mode among others.

On the battery front, the Itel A48 is backed by a 3000mAh battery and it features support for a smart power-saving mode. Additionally, the Itel A48 comes with dual security features like fast face unlock and a multi-feature fingerprint sensor. Additional features include dual 4G VoLTE and ViLTE support.
