Moto G22 with a BIG upgrade is launching in India: Know launch date, specs
Moto G22 is coming to India on April 8 and the Indian variant will have a different spec sheet when compared to the global version.
Motorola is back after a brief spell of silence! Following its last launch, which was the flagship Edge 30 Pro, the company is now back to the more affordable segments. This time, it will be the Motorola Moto G22 and it already has a launch date. Based on the Flipkart teaser, the phone will launch on April 8 and could likely be the most affordable model of the Moto G lineup this year. No prices have been revealed so far though.
The Moto G22 details are already out and there's not much to look forward to, other than the phone's price. The Moto G22 will come in two colour variants only — Cosmic Black and IceBerg Blue. The teaser also reveals the design, marking a new language for Moto G series phones to come later this year. If you are interested in the Moto G22, here is what you need to look for.
Moto G22 specs revealed ahead of India launch
The Moto G22 for India will be largely based on the global model that was announced a few months ago. There is one exception though — the charging speed. Instead of the 15W charging solution, the Moto G22 will come with a 20W charging solution in India. This should provide a boost in charge speeds for the massive 5000mAh battery.
Other than that, the rest of the phone remains unchanged. That means you still get the same 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The phone will use the MediaTek Helio G37 chipset and will come with Android 12 out of the box, with Motorola's near-stock Android experience slapped on it.
In India, the phone will come with only 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, with the latter being expandable up to 1TB via a micro SD card slot. When it comes to cameras, the rear holds a quad sensor setup, consisting of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth camera. The selfie camera uses a 16MP sensor.
Motorola says the phone gets a water-repellent design and even houses a power-key mounted fingerprint sensor along with a Face Unlock feature.
The Moto G22 could take on the recently launched Redmi 10 and several Realme C as well Narzo series devices in India.
