Motorola Edge 30 Pro is heading to the Indian market, if everything remains on track. Motorola India has confirmed a new product launch happening on February 24, with accompanying hints of the Moto Edge series. Rumours suggest it could be a renamed version of the Motorola Edge X30 that launched in China last December. The model could succeed, or sit above the Edge 20 Pro that launched in India in October 2021.

Although Motorola is yet to reveal any aspects about this mysterious Edge series device, rumours and leaks have already given us a pretty fair idea of what to expect from the device. The biggest highlight of the phone is the phone relying on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This means the Edge 30 Pro could end up being the first phone in India to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, unless Samsung beats it with its upcoming Galaxy S22 series.

Motorola Edge 30 Pro expected specs, features

Motorola Edge 30 Pro is expected to be largely based on the Motorola Edge X30 that launched in December as the world's first smartphone using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. That means you can expect features such as a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, touch sampling rate of 576Hz, Android 12 along with Motorola's MyUX skin, and a Edge 20 Pro-inspired design.

The Edge 30 Pro could also get a beefed-up triple camera setup on its rear, with the main camera being a 50MP sensor. The ultra-wide camera is also expected to have a 50MP sensor, while the third-camera will have a 2MP depth camera. The front camera could rely on a 60MP image sensor. Unlike the Edge 20 Pro, there's no telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom.

The Chinese model relies on a 5000mAh battery and accompanies a 68W fast wired charging tech; both of which can also make it to the global model.

With news of the iQOO 9 series launch expected to happen sometime in February, it could make it exciting for flagship phone seekers. iQOO this year is going with a triple model lineup, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 toting flagship being the iQOO 9 Pro. The iQOO 9 is expected to use the Snapdragon 888+ whereas the iQOO 9 SE could end up with the Snapdragon 888.
