Motorola wants to do a Galaxy Note with upcoming Edge 30 Pro flagship, sort of
Motorola Edge 30 Pro leaks reveal a folio case that comes with support for a stylus. The phone is based on the Edge X30.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro leaks have only grown strong leading up to its February 24 launch. And now, there's one that reveals a unique case for this 2022 Moto flagship. It seems the company has taken inspiration from last year's Galaxy S21 Ultra for the Edge 30 Pro, as leaked images show a unique folio case that accompanies a stylus inside! This is not new to Motorola phones but the implementation seems like a last-minute effort give the S22 Ultra some competition when it concerns productivity.
Shared by tipster Evan Blass of evleaks, these images of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro show the exact same phone as the Edge X30 from China, along with its folio case accessory. The case has a rectangular cutout on the display, similar to some of Samsung's cases for the Galaxy S series devices in the past. The back has a kickstand similar to the several iPad cases we have seen so far. There's also a stylus shown in the video, scribbling “edge”. Interestingly, there seems to be no place either in the case, or on the phone to tuck away the stylus.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro having “Ultra” ambitions
It remains to be seen whether Motorola bundles the case and stylus in the retail box, or sells it as an optional extra. Thankfully, we won't have to wait long as both the global and Indian launches will happen on February 24.
Rumours and leaks have so far suggested that the Motorola Edge 30 Pro will largely be a renamed version of the Edge X30 from China. This means the phone is going to carry the same high-end specifications, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Other features on the Edge 30 Pro include a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth cameras, and a 5000mAh battery with support for 68W fast wired charging.
When launched in India, the Edge 30 Pro could go head-to-head with the iQOO 9 Pro and possibly the Samsung Galaxy S22, both of which are yet to launch, or go on sale in India yet. Note that Edge 30 Pro could be sitting above the Edge 20 Pro that launched last year.
