Motorola Edge X30 with hidden selfie camera launches, Edge S30 follows
Motorola Edge X30 is now official! The world's first smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is out and it tags along a watered down version as well in the form of the Motorola Edge S30. Both these phones are currently available in China only, although the Edge S30 is similar to the Moto G200 from global markets.
Prices for Motorola Edge X30 starts at CNY 3199 (approx. ₹38,000) and this gets you 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The other version with 256GB storage costs CNY 3399 while the top-tier model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs CNY 3599. The Edge X30 Special Edition with its hidden camera is priced at CNY 3999 (approx. ₹47,000).
Motorola Edge X30 announced
The hero feature of the Motorola Edge X30 is its Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which is currently the most powerful mobile chipset Qualcomm makes. Motorola says the Edge X30 manages to achieve a score of 1,061,361 on AnTuTu, making it most powerful Android phone till date. Paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, the Edge X30 should perform effortlessly.
The design of the Edge X30 is an evolution of the Edge 20 Pro, with curvy shapes similar to the Moto G series models. There sits a 6.7-inch display with FHD+ OLED panel having a refresh rate of 144Hz. The camera cutout holds a 60MP selfie sensor in the regular model. The Edge X30 Special Edition hides this camera under the display, similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4.
The Edge X30 also comes with Android 12 onboard. Motorola is using a 5000mAh battery and bundles it to a 68W fast wired charging system.
Lastly, the rear cameras consist of a 50MP main camera using an OmniVision OV50A 1/1.55-inch sensor with OIS. This is accompanied by a secondary 50MP ISOCELL S5KGM1 ultrawide camera while the third one is 2MP depth camera. There is no telephoto zoom camera or a dedicated macro camera on the Edge X30.
The Edge S30 is similar to the Motorola G200 from the European market, coming with the same Snapdragon 888+ chipset. a 108MP main camera and a 144Hz LCD display.
