Android 13 has been available since August 2022 and only a handful of devices are tasting it. Samsung has been testing the newest version of Android for a few months and now, it is ready to roll it out for its 2022 flagships. The Galaxy S22 series is getting the Android 13 based One UI 5 update first and it will be reaching most users around the world starting this October. The Galaxy S22 series had launched with Android 12 earlier this year.

With the release of Android 13 in October, Samsung is now a month ahead of its Android 12 rollout from last year. Samsung's Android 13 update is accompanied by One UI 5, which is the company's latest Android skin. One UI 5 will itself bring several changes to the UI along with most of the benefits that come with Android 13 out of the box.

With the Android 13 update, Samsung users can expect features such as deeper Material You integration, better Dynamic theming and a new Dynamic lockscreen. Users might also be able to see improved widget stacking, as well as multi-user support – a first on a Samsung device. One UI 5 also gets new multitasking gestures such as double swipe from the bottom for split-screen and swipe from the top right corner for pop-up view. Similar to iOS 15, the Gallery app also gets text recognition. There's a new Privacy Hub as well.

Other than Samsung's Galaxy devices, it is only Google's Pixel devices that have got the Android 13 update so far. The Pixel 4A and newer devices have got Android 13 update this year, with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro coming installed with Android 13.
