These Huawei smartphones will HarmonyOS update

Huawei is hosting a special event on June 2 where it is expected to formally announce the HarmonyOS.

Huawei is all set to host a special event on June 2 wherein it is expected to launch its HarmonyOS mobile operating system for its smartphones. The move is aimed at helping the company that has been hit by sanctions by the US to break free from Google’s Android operating system.

So far, the company has been busy testing the beta version of its Harmony OS with select developers and beta testers. Now, a new report talks about all the Huawei smartphones that are expected to get the HarmonyOS update when it is released next month.

According to a report by GizChina, all Huawei smartphone models that are powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 710 to Kirin 9000 series processor are expected to get the update. The list includes the Huawei Mate X2 foldable smartphones, the Huawei Mate X2, Mate 40 series smartphones, Mate 30 series smartphones and Huawei P40 series smartphones.

The report also cited another report by a Weibo tipster who shared a much-more elaborate list of devices that are expected to get the Harmony OS update. As per the tipster, Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, Mate 40 RS, Mate X2, Nova 8, Nova 8 Pro and Mate Pad Pro are expected to get the update on June 2. As far as other Huawei smartphones are concerned, at its upcoming event, the company is also expected to reveal the timeline as to when its older phones will get the update. It remains to be seen if Huawei will roll out the update immediately after the event or if it will go for a staggered rollout. In any case, we will have to wait for the event, to know the details.
