Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A Dual prices hiked in India
Xiaomi has increased the price of its Redmi smartphones by up to ₹500.
Xiaomi, back in April, has raised prices of its smartphones in India in response to the government's move of increasing the GST on smartphones from 12% to 18%. Now, nearly two months later, Xiaomi has increased the price of its select smartphones again.
The Chinese smartphone maker has increased the price of its Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8 and the Redmi 8A Dual smartphones in India by up to ₹500.
First comes the Redmi Note 8. The 4GB RAM and 64GB memory variant of the Redmi Note 8 was earlier available for ₹11,499. Now, the company has increased the price of the device by ₹500. With this, the effective cost of the device becomes ₹11,999. Similarly, the 6GB RAM and 128GB space variant of the Redmi Note 8, which was earlier priced at ₹13,999, now costs ₹14,499.
Coming to the Redmi 8 smartphone, earlier the 4GB RAM and 64GB memory variant of the device costed ₹9,299. Now, the company has increased the price of the device by ₹200, which makes the effective price of the device ₹9,499.
Last on the list is the Redmi 8A Dual. The company has increased the price of the Redmi 8A Dual by ₹200. The 2GB RAM and 32GB space variant of the phone now costs ₹7,499, while the 3GB RAM and 32GB memory variant of the device costs ₹7,999. The phone was available in India at a starting price of ₹7,299 for the base variant with 2GB RAM.
It is worth noting that the updated prices are reflecting on Amazon, Flipkart and Mi.com. And reports hint that the above mentioned smartphones will be sold at the updated prices at the company's offline stores as well.
