Xiaomi Redmi 9 with MediaTek Helio G80 chipset launched
Xiaomi has launched its long rumoured Redmi 9 smartphone. Redmi 9 has been made official in Spain and it comes in two storage variants.
Redmi 9 starts at 149 Euros ( ₹12,800 approx) for the base model with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. It also comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which carries a price tag of 179 Euros ( ₹15,300 approx). The smartphone will go on sale in Spain on June 18 with pre-orders starting on June 15.
Redmi 9 comes in three colour options of ‘Carbon Gray', ‘Sunset Purple' and ‘Ocean Green'. It features a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with a notch on top. Redmi 9 is powered by MediaTek's Helio G80 processor paired with Mali-G52 GPU. There's a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion.
In the photography department, Redmi 9 sports a quad camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there's an 8-megapixel camera up front.
Redmi 9 packs a 5,020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging along with Quick Charge 3.0. It has a rear fingerprint sensor along with AI face unlock. Connectivity options on the Redmi 9 include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.
Xiaomi hasn't announced when it will launch the Redmi 9 in other markets including India.
