Xiaomi shows off tech that can fully charge your phone in 8 minutes

Xiaomi’s new tech can also wirelessly charge your phone to a 100% in 15 minutes only.

Xiaomi has just showcased its new 200W HyperCharge wired fast charging technology that is crazy fast. The company claims that this tech can charge a 4,000mAh battery to 100% in just eight minutes with wired charging. There is also a 120W wireless charging tech that can charge a 4,000mah battery to the max in less than 15 minutes.

Xiaomi had introduced 120W wired charging and 80W wireless fast charging commercially while launching the Mi 10 Ultra recently. Now, with this 200W tech, the Chinese tech giant wants to cut your charging time to mere minutes. Also, once this tech comes to their smartphones, it's going to be the first of this level of high-charging speeds.

Xiaomi showcased this HyperCharge tech on Twitter with a video. The video showed a custom-built Mi 11 Pro with a 4,000mAh battery that was being charged with this new 200W charger. You can see the phone hitting 10% charge in 44 seconds and touching 55% in just 3 minutes. The phone charged 100% in less than eight minutes. The video also showcased the 120W wireless charger at work. You can see the wireless charger juicing up the device to 10% in less than a minute, 50% in seven minutes, and a full 100% in 15 minutes.

Xiaomi is not the only company in the market vying for the top spot in fast charging tech. Though with its 200W tech, they are currently in the lead. Oppo, Realme are also in the race and keeping up with their versions of 125W charging tech. There is no intimation of if when we might be able to see the 120W and 200W charging tech come to Xiaomi's smartphones commercially. We can expect these to make their debut with the upcoming flagship devices from the company this year.
