How to get Apple iOS 16 before your friends do
iOS 16 was revealed at the WWDC 2022 Event on June 6 and Apple showcased the HUGE number of changes it brings. Although revealed, iOS 16 won't be launched for the public at least until September, when Apple launches the iPhone 14. Apple's upcoming flagship series is expected to launch with the newest iOS. But if you want to experience it beforehand, there's a way you can try iOS 16 before any of your friends get it. Here's how.
Apple offers iOS Beta programs for people who wish to try the upcoming operating systems before their public launch. You can enroll in the program which will allow you to install iOS 16 on your iPhone before its launch to the public.
Apple says, "New public betas for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura, tvOS 16, HomePod software version 16 and watchOS 9 are coming soon. As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can take part in shaping Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think."
How To Join the iOS 16 Beta Program
To join the iOS 16 Beta (public) program, which may be available in July, head over to Apple's website. At the moment, iOS 16 is in developer beta stage. Enable notifications for this program. As soon as Apple opens the Beta program for iOS 16, you'll be notified and you can join. After installing iOS 16 Beta for public, you can report feedback to Apple through the provided Feedback Assistant App.
However, you should be very careful. Apple's Beta program is there to test any bugs or glitches that may be in iOS 16. So, you can expect a wide variety of issues such as performance issues, app glitches, unusual battery drain and more. That means if you update your iPhone 13, iPhone 12 or any other eligible iPhone, then be prepared for trouble.
Usually, these issues are a deal-breaker for people and they tend to stick to their current iOS in favour of stability over new features. But if you really want to try out these features, you can enroll yourself in the Beta program.
However, if you don't join, how will you steal a march on your friends?
