Battlegrounds Mobile India launches crackdown against cheaters; know the penalty
Cheaters on Battlegrounds Mobile India face a very heavy backlash. If they cheat, a stiff penalty will be slapped on them by BGMI.
Krafton, the mobile gaming developer, has brought the Permanent Device Ban Policy for the popular battle royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) to deter cheaters. The change in new policy came into effect from December 24 onwards. According to the new policy, Krafton will ban the devices which are detected with cheating software. The BGMI ban will be permanent so that other gamers do not use unfair means to play games ever again.
Hacking and cheating have become a serious problem in popular video games like Battlegrounds Mobile India or PUBG. Thousands of accounts are banned almost every week. Krafton recently shared that nearly 100,000 accounts were banned last week. According to Krafton, 99,583 accounts were permanently banned between December 13 and December 19. Several accounts were also banned between October 1 and November 10. Nearly 2,519,692 accounts were banned during that time.

Krafton shared the details of the BGMI ban policy on Thursday. It revealed that if the use of illegal programs is detected with a mobile device by the newly applied security logic, the device will be permanently banned from using BGMI. The game usually bans players' accounts if they are found using an unofficial or modified version of the game, or have illegal auxiliary programs. These versions help cheaters to beat those players who are playing honestly. Cheaters spoil the game for the other gamers with their activities and the company is looking to ensure a level playing field for everyone.
Earlier, users bypassed the ban by creating more accounts on BGMI. Now, with the ban slapped on devices (which could be based on either the device ID or on the IP address) will completely prevent cheating gamers from bypassing the ban and creating additional accounts on the same device. The developer wrote, “Up until now sanctions were given only to the accounts, but now the mobile devices will be banned as well, making fair gameplay far more effective.”
Gamers have been regularly complaining of in-game cheating on Krafton's social media channels. Now, with this strict step of Krafton against cheaters will give gamers a better experience who believe in fair play. The company stated that it will continue to improve users' experience by eradicating cheating, including the use of unauthorized software in the game.
