Fastest charging smartphone in India? Take a look
The OnePlus 10R 5G packs a 150 W SUPERVOOC Endurance Edition. It can power up your phone battery from 0 to 70 per cent in 10 minutes.
OnePlus 10R 5G, which was launched in India at the OnePlus “More Power To You” event, packs a battery that can be charged from 0 to 70 per cent in just 10 minutes. This is possible as the smartphone packs a 150 W SUPERVOOC Endurance Edition and it can reach up to a full charge by adding another 7 minutes to the charge time, in the Rapid Charging Mode.
Battery health
But will this high-power charging rate impact battery life? According to the company, the 150W SUPERVOOC Endurance Edition comes with the Battery Health Engine feature which ensures battery health remains at optimum levels. This is made possible by a Smart Battery Health Algorithm and Battery Healing Technology which help the battery retain 80 percent of its original capacity even after 1,600 charge cycles.
The OnePlus 10R 5G also comes with a Dual Charge Pump, which means that there are two 75W pumps to charge the battery instead of one pump with a capacity of 150W. This allows the smartphone to charge faster with reduced heat dissipation, greater efficiency, and enhanced safety.
What makes it possible
This kind of charging speed is also made possible because of the VFC trickle charging optimization algorithm, which improves the charging efficiency of the last 10 percent of this smartphone's battery, the company revealed.
The VFC trickle charging optimization algorithm allows the smartphone to automatically adjust its current voltage to improve charging efficiency. In effect, it can anticipate when the user is going to unplug their phone and adapt the charging voltage accordingly.
It also has a Customized Smart Charging Chip that manages charging on the device and guarantees charging safety, by recognizing the input current and voltage, then delivering an adaptable combination to the battery.
Safety first
The OnePlus 10R 5G comes with a total of 13 temperature sensors that track the charging temperature of the smartphone in real-time. This is an upgrade of 10 sensors for the earlier models of OnePlus and has been done to ensure that the OnePlus 10R 5G delivers a fast-charging experience that ensures safety, the company indicated.
The temperature sensors are located within the phone's battery system. The OnePlus 10R 5G's 150W SUPERVOOC Endurance Edition is certified by the TÜV Rheinland for its safety in fast charging technology.
This extends to the supporting hardware too. All variants of the OnePlus 10R 5G support a new 128-bit encryption algorithm that recognizes official SUPERVOOC charging cables and unlocks the super-fast charging speeds only when it is connected with cables that are designed to deliver these.
The Technology
The OnePlus 10R 5G in Sierra Black, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, is powered by the 4,500 mAh battery and is complemented by the 150W SUPERVOOC Endurance Edition's maximum power of 20V/7.5A. This is enabled by a 160W charging brick and a USB-C to USB-C cable, both of which come inside the box of the OnePlus 10R 5G.
All other models of the OnePlus 10R 5G support 80W SUPERVOOC and have a 5,000 mAh battery. The 80W SUPERVOOC technology can charge the 5,000mAh battery from 1 to 100 percent in just 32 minutes. It also features the same Customized Smart Charging Chip as the Endurance Edition version.
Whether you're using the OnePlus 10R 5G with a 4,500 mAh battery or a 5,000 mAh battery, the batteries will last well into a full day of normal smartphone use on a single charge, claims the company. All variants of the smartphone have a large battery with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX chipset, and a display that can adjust its refresh rate between 120 Hz, 90 Hz, and 60 Hz depending on the type of content you are consuming on it.
