Great expectations? iPhone 14 Pro storage likely to be only 128GB, new leak says
Apple iPhone 14 Pro models may not get the storage boost that was generally being expected, says this new leak.
Apple is just a month away from the launch of the iPhone 14 series. However, there is a lot of speculation about the expected upgrades, price and specs and it is creating a lot of confusion. A new leak about the expected storage variant of the new lineup suggests that the iPhone 14 Pro model will start its base model variant from 128GB storage as was the case with iPhone 13. As shared by MacRumors, research firm TrendForce suggested that iPhone 14 Pro models could get a storage booster with base model starting from 256GB, but this theory looks to have been trashed by the latest leak. Now, Haitong International analyst Jeff Pu tipped that the upcoming Pro models will continue with 128GB of storage for the base model.
According to analyst Jeff Pu (via MacRumors), the Pro versions of the iPhone 14 will retain the storage of the current iPhones: specifically, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. Though he had earlier stated that iPhone 14 Pro models' storage would start from 256GB, but now he has added a 128GB variant to his specs chart for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Meanwhile, there were speculation that the iPhone 14 lineup could be priced the same as iPhone 13 line up, however, popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tipped that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have "price hikes" by 15%. He did not reveal exact pricing, but suggested that the average selling price of the entire iPhone 14 lineup will increase by about 15% vis a vis iPhone 13.
Currently, iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 mini are available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage variants whereas iPhone 13 Pro models are available in 4 storage variants - 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
Apart from these rumors, there is speculation that the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max are going to use the same A15 Bionic processor as the iPhone 13 range (albeit they will get the upgraded chips that are in iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max phones) while iPhone 14 Pro models will get a new A16 Bionic chipset.
