Apple expected to launch iPhone 14 next year. Here’s what all we know about the successor of iPhone 13.
New Year, new iPhone! On one hand where the trend of the latest Apple's top-of-the-line iPhone 13 isn't over yet, the leaks of iPhone 14 are already here. Obviously, 2022 expects a new iPhone and as soon as iPhone 13 got launched, we entered into the rumour cycle of the next in-line phone of Apple. Leaks and rumours till now suggested the return of Touch ID, ofcourse new design and improved camera from the iPhone 13 and even the USB-connectivity to the iPhone 14. Well, obviously there is going to be much more than just the basic updates and improvement in camera. Here's what we know so far about the biggest launch of Apple in the coming year.
iPhone 14 display and design
According to Jon Prosser, the tech analyst, iPhone 14 will resemble a hybrid of both an iPhone 12 and an iPhone 4, with flat sides. However, a mute button and a series of circular buttons for volume central, tending to make you think of the iPhone 4, might be seen on those borders. The iPhone 14's sides are rumoured to be made of titanium, making it harder and stronger than previous iPhones, while at the back it retains the glass surface which seems to have a satin-like finish.
There were reports that the next-generation iPhone will be portless, but Prosser believes that the iPhone 14 will keep its Lightning ports. Considering the advancements in camera sensors and lens technology, the trio rear camera setup might not be laid out on the next iPhone 14 at the back.
The removal of the now-famous display notch is one of the most consistent rumours regarding upcoming iPhones. However, the iPhone 14 is expected to ditch the notch, with Apple opting for a punch-hole front-facing camera, as seen on many of the best Android phones, The Elec reported.
iPhone 14 camera: What can we expect?
According to the Korean publication The Elec, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max variants would use punch hole cameras with 48 MP sensors instead next year. These are likely to be used with LG's 120Hz LTPO OLED screens. Despite removing the notch, Apple is considerably increasing the sensor size on the iPhone 14 lineup's selfie cameras, jumping from 12MP on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max to 48MP on the iPhone 14. According to the report, Apple is also likely to get rid of the iPhone's controversial Face ID notch.
