Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G: First impressions comparison
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G: The Moto G51 5G uses a Snapdragon 480+ chipset. Here's how it compares to the Redmi.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G: Motorola has announced the Moto G51 5G in India as its most affordable 5G smartphone yet. Equipped with the new Snapdragon 480+ chipset in a sea of MediaTek Dimensity 700/810 smartphones, the Moto G51 (first impressions) wants to appeal differently. However, Redmi tried doing the same with the Redmi Note 11T 5G.
Launched at a slightly higher price, the Redmi Note 11T 5G (review) sticks to MediaTek's Dimensity power and utilizes Redmi's classic formula of specs and design. Starting at ₹16,999, it look pricey on paper but you do get more RAM as standard with all its variants.
Hence, we take a look at both of these phones based on our first impressions and specifications.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G Design
Design is always a subjective choice but the Redmi Note 11T 5G is clearly the more striking of the two. With its chrome rings on the cameras and a unique matte finish with fancy gradient colours, the Redmi Note 11T 5G looks more appealing. The Moto G51 looks handsome too but the design seem bland in comparison. Both phones are, however, easy to hold and use. The Moto G51 is taller but slimmer, which is a boon for shorter hands.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G Display
No question asked, it is the Moto G51 5G that takes the prize here. The display is not only bigger at 6.8-inches but it has better colours and a faster refresh rate of 120Hz. The Redmi Note 11T's 6.6-inch display appears dull in comparison and its 90Hz refresh rate is a step down.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G Performance
Both these phones are relying on entry-level 5G chips. On synthetic benchmarks, the Dimensity 810 on the Redmi Note 11T 5G is faster and superior to the Snapdragon 480+ 5G chip. The Redmi Note 11T also uses the faster UFS 2.2 storage while Motorola uses a slower uMCP storage. However, in the real-world, both these phones seem to be on par with each other.
While Xiaomi offers its highly optimised and now reliable MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11, Motorola is using a near-stock version of Android 11 with no bloatware and ads. Your personal preference comes into the matter here but here's what we observed: the Redmi Note 11T allows more customization options whereas the Moto G51 stays fast and is easy to use.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G bands support
The Moto G51 5G wins here with its support for 12 5G bands, which should ensure better future-proofing when 5G arrives here. The Redmi Note 11T only offers support for 7 5G bands.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G Battery
Both the Moto G51 and Redmi Note 11T feature a similar 5000mAh battery. The Redmi Note 11T in our review lasted for a day and had some charge left for the next one with moderate to heavy use. We haven't tested the Moto G51 5G totally but if the past has anything to indicate, the Moto G51 could outperform the Redmi Note 11T here.
The case reverses when it comes to charging. The Moto G51 only has a 20W charging system that takes over 2 hours for a full charge. The Redmi Note 11T uses a 33W charger and a split battery tech to do a full recharge in an hour.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G Cameras
The Moto G51 has got a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera on its rear, while a 13MP front camera deals with selfies. Watch out for our full review to have more details on this one.
The Redmi Note 11T has only a 50MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on its back. A 16MP camera services all your selfie requirements. The cameras performed fine for a phone of this class in our review but they don't compare to the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
Moto G51 5G vs Redmi Note 11T 5G Price
This is a confusing one. The Moto G51 5G is cheaper at ₹14,999 but you are only getting 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Motorola does not offer other storage variants of the Moto G51 5G in India.
The Redmi Note 11T, on the other hand, starts at ₹16,999 and you get 6GB RAM as well as 64GB storage as standard. For ₹17,999, you can get it with 128GB storage. Spend up to ₹19,999 and you get 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
