The Moto G51 5G is currently one of the nicer options to choose if you have a restricted budget of less than Rs. 16,000 to spend on a 5G smartphone. We reviewed the phone earlier and were left impressed by its overall value and as well as the user experience. However, its successor is coming and based on the initial leak, it seems as if Motorola will downgrade the phone to attain a lower price tag.

Based on the leak from 91Mobiles, it seems that the Moto G52 will be a more affordable 4G smartphone instead of a 5G variant. Motorola could most likely continue to sell the Moto G51 5G as the 5G variant while it addresses the affordable end of the segment with the newer 4G model. The phone's design seems to remain largely unchanged and it will be offered in three new colours; a light blue, white and black.

Moto G52 leaks reveal specs, features

Inside, the Moto G52 will be powered by the Snapdragon 680 chip, which is a 6nm 4G chip that we have seen in several budget smartphone lately. In terms of basic performance, the Snapdragon 680 isn't as powerful as the Snapdragon 480 Plus we saw on the Moto G51 5G. The phone will come with up to 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. And as expected, it will run on Android 12 out of the box.

There is an interesting trade-off in the display department too. The Moto G52 will get a smaller 6.5-inch pOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz of refresh rate. The OLED panel is a nice upgrade but the 90Hz is a downgrade from the 120Hz display on the Moto G51. It seems like Motorola is going on a spree of putting OLED displays on all its affordable models.

The cameras won't bechnaged though. Hence, you could expect the same 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth camera. The 16MP self camera in the punch-hole cutout will also remain. The battery capacity is also said to remain the same at 5000mAh but there's no info on the charging tech. The phone will come IP52 certification for resistance. Stereo speakers are also said to be present as well.
