Motorola has been rumoured of working on its next-generation foldable smartphone. A new leak now suggests the Moto Razr 2 will launch by August-end.

This information comes from Evan Blass who also said that the new foldable is codenamed Odyssey. This is however slightly earlier than what Lenovo’s South Africa General Manager Thibault Dousson said about the next Moto foldable phone. He said that the next Motorola foldable phone will launch in September.

According to leaks and rumours, Moto Razr 2 is expected to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 processor which has a built-in 5G chip. The foldable phone could pack 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Rumours also suggest a 2,845mAh battery on the Moto Razr 2.

For photography, the foldable phone could house Samsung’s 48-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor. It will feature a 20-megapixel camera up front for selfies. On the software front, the Moto Razr 2 would run Android 10 along with customisations for the foldable display.

Motorola’s second foldable phone is expected to offer upgraded performance than the first one. Motorola got the foldable display and design right on the Moto Razr but the specifications were not flagship-like at all. It comes with Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 710 processor, and a 16-megapixel rear camera. The smartphone also has a hefty price tag of 1,24,999.

The leaked specs of the second-gen Moto Razr foldable assure an upgrade in key areas. It’s interesting to see what else Motorola plans to upgrade with its second foldable phone.
