Nothing phone (1) is set to arrive next month. Here’s what we know so far.
The much awaited Nothing phone (1) is all set to launch next month and is already creating a lot of hype on the internet. A few days back, the London-based startup revealed the full design of its upcoming phone and the netizens seem to be super excited about it. While the full list of specifications and features are yet to be outed, the design reveal has answered a lot of questions around the phone. Here're the things that we know about the Nothing phone (1) so far.
Nothing phone (1) has semi-transparent back
The Nothing phone (1) features a transparent design on the back through which you can get a sneak peek of the elements from the phone's internal make up. However, the phone (1) has metal like plates covering the exposed components, giving the back a cleaner look-and-feel.
Illuminating back panel and wireless charging support
The back of the Nothing phone (1) will have illuminating lines available around the camera island, the wireless charging area and on the top-right. These could be used to alert users of notifications.
Flat, metallic sides
The Nothing phone (1) is likely to come with sleek metallic sides with flat edges, similar to the new iPhone 13 series.
No 3.5mm jack
The design of the Nothing phone (1) shows that an element is missing i.e, 3.5mm headphone jack. It seems like the company in favor of offering a better ecosystem for wireless audio products from other brands, has removed support for wired earphones and headphones.
No Alert Slider
The design also reveals that the phone (1) will not have an alert slider or any similar implementation. Instead, it will only have the software-side switch to toggle between ringing and silent profiles.
Dual camera setup on the back
The design further suggests that the Nothing phone (1) will feature a dual camera setup on the back which looks cleaner and offers more real estate for the rest of the back panel's design to shine.
NothingOS to be powered by Android 12 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 700-series chip
The Nothing phone (1) will launch with Android 12-based NothingOS out of the box. It will be interesting to see what features NothingOS will bring with it. Moreover, it is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 700-series chipset. However, more details on the phone's processor is yet to be revealed.
