Oppo Reno 7 series launches: 3 models, flat design, new cameras
The Oppo Reno 7 series has been announced in China, consisting of the Reno 7 Pro, Reno 7 and Reno 7 SE. India and global availability plans are yet to be revealed.
The Oppo Reno 7 series is now out! Ahead of 2021's end, Oppo has revealed the Reno 7 series in China, consisting of three models – Reno 7 Pro, Reno 7, and Reno 7 SE. All three models are based on a combo MediaTek Dimensity and Snapdragon chips, and all of them offer varying levels of camera hardware. Oppo is yet to announce any plans for an India launch yet.
The Reno 7 Pro and Reno 7 take on the bold flat design of the Reno 6 5G that launched earlier this summer in India. The Reno 7 SE with a rather conventional phone design is now the most affordable option, with prices starting at 2199 Yuan for the base version (approximately ₹26,000). Here's a closer look at all the specs and features.
Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G features
The Reno 7 Pro is largely a mildly updated Reno 6 Pro 5G, albeit with a new design and cameras. The Reno 7 Pro relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max chip paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage as standard. The flat display measures 6.5-inches and has a FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The 4500mAh battery with a 65W wired fast charging is the same from the old model. However, the cameras are all new (sort of) – a 50MP Sony IMX766 1/1.56-inch main camera, an unspecified ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera; all mounted on a camera hump that is surrounded by a LED light ring.
The Reno 7 Pro starts at CNY 3299 (approximately ₹43,000) for the 8GB RAM variant in China.
Oppo Reno 7 features and specs
The Reno 7 gets a Snapdragon 778G chip with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage options. The design remains the same but the 90Hz AMOLED display measures 6.4-inches. The battery remains the same too at 45000mAh but it gets 60W charging. The main camera also gets the older 64MP sensor along with an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The Reno 7 starts from CNY 2699 (approximately ₹31,000).
Oppo Reno 7 SE features
Starting at CNY 2199 (approximately ₹25,000), the Reno 7 SE is most affordable model here with a conventional curvy design and a Dimensity 900 chip under the hood with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Reno 7 SE gets a similar 6.4-inch 90Hz FHD+ OLED display and a similar 4500mA battery, but the latter charges via a 33W wired system.
The lower price also means older cameras. The main camera here gets a 48MP Sony IMX481 sensor, which is accompanied by a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth camera.
