This also means that the firm will be bringing 5G support to Qualcomm-powered smartphones that will be reaching a wider audience.
It's only a matter of time before we see the 5G bubble bursting and Qualcomm is already getting prepared for it. We have already seen it launching premium and some mid-range smartphone chipsets supporting the 5G connectivity and now, it has announced that Snapdragon 4xx series processors will also support 5G soon. The company has announced that 5G supporting Snapdragon 4xx series chipsets will be announced in early 2021, as reported by XDA Developers. This also means that the firm will be bringing 5G support to Qualcomm-powered smartphones that will be reaching a wider audience.
"Qualcomm continues to pave the way for 5G commercialization at scale, and the expansion of 5G into our Snapdragon 4-series is expected to address regions that currently have approximately 3.5 billion smartphone users combined. The Snapdragon 4-series 5G Mobile Platform is designed to exceed expectations for the mass-market segment by bringing an assortment of predominately high- and mid-tier features to a broader audience. It will deliver on the promise of making 5G accessible to all smartphone users," said Cristiano Amon, President, Qualcomm Incorporated.
