Redmi Note 10S Cosmic Purple variant is now official in India, starts shipping August 31 onwards

The new colour variant of the Redmi Note 10S can be bought right now from the Xiaomi website.

The Redmi Note 10S was launched in India in May this year and now Xiaomi has made a new colour variant available in the country. The new Cosmic Purple variant of the Redmi Note 10S, that Xiaomi teased on Twitter recently is now official and can be bought on the Xiaomi website. The Cosmic Purple colour variant was added to the Redmi Note 10S lineup for the first time in Malaysia last month and it was launched there in a sole 8GB/128GB version. India however, as per the Xiaomi website, the new colour variant can be bought in the 6GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB variant. The Redmi Note 10S was launched in India earlier this year with the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC under the hood.

The Cosmic Purple colour on the Redmi Note 10S was teased via a video shared by the Redmi India Twitter handle titled “ Paint The Town Purple”. The handle also shared a camera sample along with the caption - “The sky is Purple?” and the Redmi Note 10S hashtag. This Cosmic Purple variant of the Redmi Note 10S was officially announced in Malaysia on July 30 and was priced at MYR 899 or ₹15,700 approx. In Malaysia, there was only an 8GB/128GB version of the device available in that colour with sales kicking off on August 3.

In India though, as per the Xiaomi website, there are two configurations available on the Redmi Note 10S Cosmic Purple - a 6GB/64GB ( ₹14,999) and a 6GB/128GB ( ₹15,999). You can buy the Redmi Note 10S in the new colour right now and it is going to start shipping on August 30.

The Cosmic Purple is the fourth colour option being offered on the Redmi Note 10S. When the smartphone was launched in May this year, it was offered in Deep Sea Blue, Shadow Black, and Frost White colours.

Redmi Note 10S specs

The Redmi Note 10S runs Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 skin on top and sports a 6.43-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with 1,100 nits of peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 SoC paired with a Mali-G76 MC4 GPU and comes with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. There is a quad rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and two 2MP depth and macro sensors. There is a 13MP selfie camera housed in a hole-punch cutout in the centre of the display. The Redmi Note 10S is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
