Samsung Galaxy A72, Galaxy A52 launch expected on March 17
A now removed video of an upcoming Samsung Unpacked event for March 17 is expected to be for the Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A52.
Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 this month. The company is yet to make anything official but it may have just revealed the launch date for its highly anticipated Galaxy A phones.
Samsung Korea’s YouTube channel briefly listed the live stream video for its Galaxy Unpacked March 2021 event. The video was taken down but Twitter user FrontTron (via SamMobile) managed to take a screenshot of it. According to the screenshot, Samsung’s launch event is scheduled for March 17 at 22:30 KST which is 7:00 pm IST for viewers in India. The video doesn’t mention Galaxy A52 or Galaxy A72 but considering these two phones are expected to launch this month, it’s most likely for the Galaxy A-series. Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A52 have also leaked almost entirely, and have been spotted on Samsung’s support pages.
Galaxy A72 is expected to come with flagship features such as 3X optical zoom and 30X space zoom. It will have a quad-camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 20-megapixel ultra wide camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. The smartphone is also said to feature new Snapchat lenses that will be embedded directly into the camera app. Galaxy A72 might feature stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.
Leaks also suggest it will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, and it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G processor. It could be offered in two variants of 6GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM+256GB. More expected specs include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, and a 32-megapixel front camera.
The 5G variant of Galaxy A52 will feature a Super AMOLED display as well, with a 90Hz refresh rate. It could launch in two RAM and storage variants of 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. Galaxy A52 is also rumoured to feature a 32-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter and run Android 11 and One UI 3.0 out of the box. Meanwhile, the 4G variant of the phone could come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and sport the same camera configuration as the 5G variant of the device, according to reports.
