Hours after we reported that Samsung was rolling out its Android 11-based OneUI 3 upgrade to the Galaxy Fold, the company has now begun pushing the update for its budget-friendly Galaxy M31 phone too, according to reports.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 is the first budget device from the South Korean company to receive the Android 11 platform upgrade. HT Tech had previously reported that the Galaxy Fold received the update a month earlier than it was supposed to, but the M31 was only supposed to get it in March.

The update, which is currently rolling out to users in the country, bears the version number M315FXXU2BUAC and brings the January security patches in tow, according to a report by SamMobile. However, users may have to head over to Settings and mash the update button until the update shows up.

Now that the company has updated its entire flagship portfolio including the Galaxy S10, S20, Note 10, Note 20 series, plus the Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 2, the company has officially checked off all the devices for its Android 11 update until February.

With Samsung now pushing out the update to the Galaxy M31, its possible that the company may also update the Galaxy M30s, A51, M21, Note 10 Lite, and the Galaxy Tab S7. These were all supposed to get the update in March, but now that Samsung has already cleared up its update deck till the end of next month, these devices should be seeing the upgrade sooner than later.

Updates rolling out quickly to budget and mid-range devices is always welcome news, and Samsung has been unstoppable while pushing out updates this cycle. It remains to be seen whether Oneplus, Xiaomi and other manufacturers like the erstwhile update king HMD Global can match the South Korean company’s speed while updating their mid-range phones as well.
