An Auto-generated Twitter captions feature has been rolled for users starting Wednesday, December 15. This Twitter feature will be available on Android, iOS and web in more than 30 languages including Hindi, English, Spanish, Thai, Japanese, German and Chinese. However, the captions will appear in the language of the device used to upload the clip originally as translation is not live on Twitter. Wait! There's a significant catch with the new feature: it'll only appear on new videos uploaded to Twitter. The feature will not be applicable for old videos as their status remains unchanged. No hint has been provided by Twitter whether it intends to change that as millions of users would benefitted from that move.

Also, the users wouldn't have an option to report inaccurate or bad captions as of now, said Twitter spokesperson in an official statement. However, the microblogging platform is working on improving its accessibility features for users. The captions will appear automatically while watching a muted video on mobile. It must be noted that the captions will appear on muted videos for iOS as well as Android and web. In addition, Twitter desktop users will get an option to switch the caption on and off. They will also be able to view auto-caption text after turning your device's sound off by tapping the CC button on the desktop.

Meanwhile, Twitter is also testing vertical feeds like TikTok and Instagram reels format for its ‘Explore' discovery tab. This feature will enable users to swipe up and see videos, images and even text-based tweets in a vertical format, similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels.

Twitter has also announced some noteworthy changes to its platform. The company is testing a one-time warning feature that will enable users to flag their posts with labels like Nudity, Violence, or Sensitive. Also, it has added a new privacy feature that lets users remove a follower without blocking them.
