Vivo has announced an extension of product warranty for consumers in areas affected by lockdown. The warranty period of Vivo products has been extended by 30 days from the day when the service center resumes business. Vivo has introduced this policy for consumers who cannot visit a service center due to lockdown.

Vivo's warranty extension covers products whose expiry date of warranty or replacement falls under the lockdown period of the state. In this case, the 30 day extension period will be calculated from the day when a service center resumes business once restrictions are lifted. It's important to note that the warranty extension covers only those products that are affected by the lockdown. It does not mean a 30-day extension for all Vivo products.

This is similar to what Poco announced for its consumers. Poco is extending the warranty of its products by another two months. This is however limited to those Poco products whose warranty period is expiring in May or June this year. Poco will automatically extend the warranty by two months for these products.

In addition to the product warranty extension, Vivo has also announced a handset pick-and-drop service which will be free of cost. This service will however depend on the current situation of the state. The latest move comes shortly after Vivo announced an aid of 10 crore towards Covid-19 relief efforts in India. The company also reiterated its donations from last year of over 9 lakh masks, 15,000 PPE suits and 50,000 litres of sanitizers to state and central government agencies.
