Vivo Y51 launched in India, priced at ₹17,990

Vivo on Monday announced the launch of a new handset in India. Called Vivo Y51, the handset is priced at ₹17,990 and will be available in Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony colour options. Vivo has also announced an upgraded Y30 for ₹14,990.

First up is the Vivo Y51. The smartphone comes with a 6.58-inch full HD+ Halo FullView LCD display. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. It comes with a microSD card slot that supports expandable storage up to 1TB. On the software front, it has Funtouch OS 11 based on Android 11.

A 5,000mAh battery powers the phone. “With AI power saving technology, a single full charge can provide up to 14.3 hours of online HD movie streaming, or 7.26 hours of resource-intensive games. The reverse charging feature can even charge other devices from the high capacity battery of Y51 when needed,” said Vivo in a release.

Vivo Y51 comes with a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel sensor, 8-megapixel sensor, and 2-megapixel sensor. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel sensor. The back camera comes with a bunch of modes including portrait, video, pano, live photo, slo-mo, time-lapse, and more.

In terms of connectivity, Vivo Y51 supports dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type-C. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and 18W fast charging support.

Next up is the upgraded Y30. The new version comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. The phone has four rear cameras – 13-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel super-wide-angle sensor, 2-megapixel macro sensor, and 2-megapixel bokeh sensor. It has a 6.47-inch display. It runs on MediaTek Helio P35 processor. A 5,000mAh battery powers the handset.
