However, this ophthalmologist (eye doctor) in the US has found a unique use case for the phone in his profession. This year’s iPhone 13 Pro models get the macro photography function that is baked into the ultra-wide camera. Dr Korn uses this macro mode to check the progress and even share it with his patients. Instead, it uses a variable focus system on the ultra-wide camera to achieve the macro function. The macro mode is automatically enabled as soon as the phone goes very close to the subject. Once he takes the pictures, he even shares the images with his patients via the AirDrop feature. That way, he allows his patients to also know about the progress. This also allows the patient to have a record of the surgery in case they need to visit another doctor, or ever need it in the future.
