The Mangalyaan-2 mission is an orbiter mission that aims to conduct an in-depth study of current interplanetary dust, and the Martian atmosphere and environment. This study will help scientists to identify the creation as well as habitability of the planet.

NASA’s Perseverance mission consisted of a Mars rover, however, ISRO’s Mars mission will be studying the planet from its orbit. The rover also collected Martian rock and regolith for further studies. The Mangalyaan-2 mission will consist of four major payloads to study Mars's environment.

As of now, ISRO has not revealed much about the Mangalyaan-2 mission, however, we expect that as soon as the mission development progresses we will get to know more about it. Furthermore, the timeline of the mission is important, as the first Mangalyaan mission was supposed to last for 6-months, however, it further continued its journey for many more years.  (NASA)
