Apple iPhone 2018: Apple Watch Series 4 to feature 15% larger display
Apple’s Watch Series 4 is expected to come with a new watch face with up to eight complications.
Apple's 2018 iPhone event will take place on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. All eyes will be on the new iPhones launching this year. Apple is also expected to launch its Watch Series 4 alongside the iPhones.
Following the media invites for Apple's iPhone event, 9to5mac reported having leaked the OLED iPhone XS models and the new Watch. The report claims to have the actual design and look of the Apple Watch Series 4. Confirming past rumours, the Apple Watch Series features an edge-to-edge display that's 15% bigger than its predecessor.
Apple releases new watch faces regularly. With a bigger display size, the Apple Watch Series 4 has a radical new watch face accommodating tonnes of information at once. The watch face has the usual analog clock and date along with features such as daily tasks, detailed temperature and more. This watch face also shows the UV rating on the bottom left corner.
While the design language remains the same, there's a new hole between the crown and side button. It isn't clear what the functionality of this new tool is.
The new Apple Watch will be compatible with existing straps available in the market, according to a Bloomberg report. Apple Watch Series 4 will most likely come with LTE functionality, like the Watch Series 3.
Rumour has it that Apple also plans to introduce a new iPad Pro lineup that will feature an iPhone X design by ditching the home button for an edge-to-edge display. As Apple's hardware launch at its iPhone event usually brings out new phones and watches, the iPad Pro could come later this fall.
