The spotlight for this year’s event is the unveiling of the brand’s much-loved foldable smartphones which will come with upgraded tech that will once again raise the bar for what’s possible in this device category. ## The evolution of the foldable form factor When Samsung first launched their foldable smartphones, the smartphone series was summed up in one word — ‘radical’. In no time, their flexible design found its way into the homes and hearts of millions of smartphone enthusiasts, who realized that foldable phones outshine the standard candy bar design in almost every aspect and fare higher on aspects of productivity and even looks. Also read click here. As smartphones become a ubiquitous part of our lives, manufacturers have been trying to pack in more and more features to increase their utility. As a result, their size has been increasing too. The foldable smartphone offers the best of both worlds — it gives you the benefit of a large screen in a compact and portable phone design. Like several other areas in modern technology, Samsung has been a pioneer when it comes to innovation in the foldable phone space. Back in 2019, the Galaxy Fold revolutionized the device category by offering a massive flexible display, which folded in half and revealed a smaller, yet equally gorgeous, cover display when shut. The foldable handset proved to be a benchmark for the smartphone industry and each year, its newer iterations have managed to adopt more and more cutting-edge tech. In 2020, Samsung shifted the crease on its foldable display in a way that the phone folded vertically, and thus was born the Galaxy Z Flip range. More than anything, these devices stoked the nostalgia of those who owned the flip phones that dominated the market in the early 2000s. But the brand’s throwback existed in the modern era and it was optimized to offer the latest tech in the lucrative form factor. Over the years, devices from this range too have delighted millions with the unique usage scenarios they enable. ## What makes a foldable phone a game-changer? Samsung is getting ready to take us into the next era of its foldable smartphone journey as the new devices get set to make their debut at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked. In the run-up to the big launch, let’s see how switching to a foldable smartphone can enrich your life. Big features in a compact package: The Galaxy Foldables offer you the best of both worlds — a large screen for improved productivity and a compact smartphone that easily fits into your pocket to be carried around. The massive internal display of the Fold model when it is opened up gives you tablet-type comfort when you are going through large spreadsheets, creating intricate artwork, catching up on your favourite movies and TV shows or working towards a new high score on the latest trending game. And, for times when you don’t need the big display, just fold the phone and use the cover screen that’s large enough to be a smartphone by itself. This hybrid user experience is specifically aimed at those who need large displays to serve their work or entertainment needs but do not necessarily like to carry big devices like laptops or tablets with them all the time. Smartphone photography redefined: Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series has surely got the angle right for the most amazing photos and selfies taken on a smartphone. The unique design of the Galaxy Flip allows you to take selfies with the powerful rear camera array as the folded smartphone can be propped on a table or similar hard surface with the folded-down side acting as a tripod in the celebrated Flex Mode. Not just that, the dual-screen arrangement also means you can capture photos of other people while giving them a view of themselves as they adjust their poses. All this has very much proved that smartphone photography has been redefined by the Galaxy Z series devices. Engineered for multi-tasking: At a time when everything from mobile apps to shopping portals is striving to improve their user interface to improve the overall CX, Samsung’s foldables stand out for how they are built to make your life easier. The foldable hardware of the Galaxy foldable range opened new doors for innovation in the user interface space. The new features include App Continuity, which ensures that the same app stays on both the cover display and the main screen if you open the phone suddenly. This allows you to pick up where you left off, except on a much larger screen. And that’s not all, the larger screen estate also means using two apps side by side as intuitively as ever before. You can even use Samsung’s iconic S Pen (compatible with Fold3 and Fold4) to take notes on it while you are on a video call. These and plenty of other multi-tasking features make the experience of using Samsung Galaxy Z Series a highly pleasing one. ## How to be a part of the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event?
