iPhone 13 Pro cam bug fixed; Apple iOS 15.1, macOS Monterey update OUT!
Apple has released iOS 15.1, watchOS 8.1, HomePod 15.1 update, and macOS Monterey updates. Along with support for the new AirPods Gen 3, Apple also delivers new features to iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
If you are reading this on an iPhone, iPad, or a Mac, you should immediately check the software update section. Apple has released the newest iOS 15.1 update along with the watchOS 8.1, iPadOS 15.1, HomePod 15.1, and macOS Monterey updates for its entire ecosystem. Apart from bringing support for the newest AirPods Gen 3, Apple also brings around some fixes and new features for the iPhone 13 Pro models.
The most notable upgrades via these updates include SharePlay, ProRes video for iPhone 13 Pro models, Lossless audio for HomePod Mini, and a whole new OS for Macs. The updates are available via an OTA update and you will have to leave your ensure your devices have enough charge to install the new OS safely.
New iOS 15.1, macOS Monterey updates are out
The common feature available for all Apple ecosystem devices is SharePlay. The feature allows you to have shared experience with your friends and family. You get Shared controls for for media, smart volume, and have FaceTime call to share something with your friends.
All Apple devices also get universal support for the new AirPods Generation 3. The new AirPods Gen 3 go on sale from today and you will need to have these new updates installed on your device.
For iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max
The iOS 15.1 update brings two new features for iPhone 13 Pro users. The much hyped ProRes video codec is now live on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Additionally, the update now lets you switch off the automatic switching to the macro camera. However, there’s no button for making the switch manually.
For MacBooks, iMac
The macOS Monterey update for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs is available to download for free. The new OS brings SharePlay, Spatial Audio for FaceTime calls along with Voice Isolation and Portrait Mode video for calls on Zoom and Webex, Focus Mode, Universal Control with iPads and Mac devices, and a new Safari browser.
The HomePod 15.1 update brings two new features for the old HomePod and one for the HomePod Mini. Spatial Audio comes to the HomePod only but the ability to play lossless audio via Apple Music is available on all HomePod models.
