OnePlus on Wednesday launched its much awaited OnePlus 6 smartphone in London. The smartphone will be available in three variants with the base model starting at £469 which translates to roughly 42,900. The smartphone will be initially available in two colour options of 'Mirror Black' and 'Midnight Black'.

OnePlus will launch the smartphone in India tomorrow at an event in Mumbai. OnePlus 6 sales are set to begin on May 21 in India. As with every OnePlus smartphone, OnePlus 6 also aspires to be the flagship killer this year. The smartphone boasts flagship specifications and features making it a tough rival to competition. Here's how it fares against Samsung Galaxy S9, Huawei P20 Pro and Google Pixel 2 in terms of specifications and features.

OnePlus 6 and Huawei P20 Pro feature the same design language with an iPhone X-like display. OnePlus has a 6.28-inch full Optic AMOLED display with aspect ratio of 19:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Huawei P20 Pro, on the other hand flaunts a 6.1-inch full HD+ OLED 'FullView' display. Samsung Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch QHD+ curved Super AMOLED Infinity Display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Of the lot, Google Pixel 2 has the smallest 5-inch full HD AMOLED display.

Processor, RAM and storage
OnePlus 6 runs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor. Samsung Galaxy S9 in India runs in-house Exynos 9810 processor. Huawei P20 Pro also runs its in-house Kirin 970 octa-core processor. Google Pixel 2, on the other hand comes with an older Snapdragon 835 processor.

In terms of storage, OnePlus 6 comes with 6GB and 8GB of RAM and storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB . Samsung Galaxy S9 also comes with 4GB RAM and three storage options of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Similarly, Google Pixel 2 offers two models with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage. Huawei P20 Pro has only one model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

All smartphones expect for Google Pixel 2 offer a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. However Google Pixel 2 comes with unlimited online storage for photos and videos.

All four smartphones battle it out offering the best camera capabilities. OnePlus 6 features a dual-camera setup of 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel Sony IMX 519 sensors. The dual cameras are equipped with EIS, OIS, and slow motion video recording at 480fps. Up front it houses a 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and EIS. The front camera will soon be updated to feature 'Portrait Mode'.

Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a single 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. The smartphone's camera features include 'super slo-mo' video recording at 960fps and AR emojis.

Huawei's P20 Pro stands out with its triple camera setup at the rear which includes a 40-megapixel RGB sensor, 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. For selfies, it has a 24-megapixel camera. It also comes with super slow motion at 960fps and more features like 5X Hybrid Zoom, and six-axis stabilisation.

Google's Pixel smartphones are known for having the best cameras. The Pixel 2 is no less with a 12.2-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and EIS. Up front, it houses an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture and fixed focus. The front and rear cameras both feature 'depth of field' effect for DSLR-like bokeh mode.

Battery and OS
OnePlus 6 is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery along with support for the company's Dash Charge support. Samsung Galaxy S9 packs a 3,000mAh battery while the P20 Pro has a bigger 4,000mAh battery. Google Pixel 2 offers the smallest 2,700mAh battery from the list.

On the software front OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Another custom UI is available on Huawei P20 Pro which runs EMUI 8.1 based Android 8.1 Oreo. Samsung Galaxy S9 ships with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. Google Pixel 2 differs as it runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo. While Google Pixel 2 is the first to receive Android OS upgrades, OnePlus 6 is also in the run with the smartphone being eligible for Android P beta update.
