Redmi Note 12 Pro+
2/6 With its 6.67-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G offers the best display package in its segment. It looks bright and colourful, and is a joy to watch content on. (Amritanshu / HT Tech)
Redmi Note 12 Pro+
3/6 The Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G relies on the MediaTek Helio G96 chipset. Not the fastest chip in its segment but it offers ample performance for regular smartphone tasks and even some casual gaming. Everyday usage is as smooth as it has been on a Redmi Note Pro every year. (Amritanshu / HT Tech)

4/6 The camera performance is decent on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G. The 108MP main camera does a good enough job in most lighting scenarios but the rest of the cameras are sub-par. The 2MP macro camera cannot match the brilliance of the 5MP macro camera on the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. The 16MP selfie camera is good at its job though.  (Amritanshu / HT Tech)

5/6 The MIUI 13 experience comes on Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G but it is still based on Android 11. The pre-loaded apps are fewer than ever and we did not see any system ads, despite enabling Personalised Ads. The interface is well designed and runs smoothly with beautiful animations.  (Amritanshu / HT Tech)

6/6 The Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G still retains its 5000mAh battery from before but gets a new 67W wired charging solution. The phone easily lasts an an entire day and then some with moderate usage. The 67W charger does a 10-100 percent full charge in around 40 minutes.  (Amritanshu / HT Tech)

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ could launch in INdia soon with 200MP camera. (Xiaomi)

Redmi Note 12 5G series is coming to India soon. In an official social media post, Xiaomi has now confirmed bringing the Redmi Note 12 5G series smartphones to India. A teaser image also revealed the design of the Redmi Note 12 5G series, hinting at the same phones from China that launched a while ago. The Redmi Note 12 5G models were recently announced in China with lots of upgrades, and a special version with 200W charging solution.

Since Xiaomi mentions “series”, it is likely that the Redmi Note 12 5G range could consist of the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. Compared to the Redmi Note 11 Pro models launched earlier this year, these Note 12 Pro models could be offering massive upgrades in terms of performance, cameras, and other aspects. The Note 12 Pro+ could debut the 200MP camera sensor in India, although the 200W charging may remain out of consideration for the time being.

Redmi Note 12 5G series launching soon

Based on the teaser, it seems that Redmi could launch these phones in India before the new year hits. Redmi's arch rival Realme is already launching the Realme 10 Pro series in India, and Redmi would want to outdo it without waiting for long.

Over the last few years, Xiaomi has reserved Redmi Note launches to once per year. The arrival of the Redmi Note 12 series within 2022 changes things again. With 5G networks already mushrooming in India, Redmi would like to bank in on the hype with its 5G enabled affordable devices.

Both the Redmi Note 12 Pro models in China use the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, which is a more powerful version of the Dimensity 920 chip. It supports 5G networks and offers strong midrange performance. The Redmi Note 12 Pro uses the 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the main camera whereas the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ uses the new 200MP camera sensor for the main camera.

The standard model uses a 67W fast charging solution while the Pro+ gets the faster 120W charging solution. Both models feature 120Hz OLED displays. The phones also get a new minimalist design that's more akin to the Redmi K50i that launched earlier this year.
