Samsung reveals Exynos 850 8nm chipset details

The Exynos 850 is in mass production right now and it should come to more smartphones besides the Samsung Galaxy A21s.

Samsung recently revealed its Samsung Galazy A21s smartphone that are powered by the Exynos 850 chipset. While at the time of launch, there weren't enough details about the chipset out there but now, Samsung has given out some more details bout its new entry-level chipset.

The Samsung Exynos 850 in built on on the 8nm LPP process and comes with a eight Cortex-A55 cores. These come with a maximum frequency of 2.0GHZ and do not have 5G-support. The chipset hasa ARM Mali-G52 GPU and supports LDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.

The Exynos 850 is codenames S5E3830 and it can support up to 21.7-megapixel cameras on both the front of and rear. If the smartphone in question is going to use a dual camera then the support on the Exynos 850 drops to 16MP plus 5MP.

There is video support for up to 1080p resolution at 60fps and screen support up to FDH+ or 2520 x 1080 pixels (this is a resolution many mid-range smartphones usually have). The chipset supports 802.11ac WiDi and Bluetooth 5.0 and there is support for FM Radio. There is support for 4G and LTE support is limited to Cat.7 downlink and Cat.13 uplink.
