Among other tech news for the day were complaints by iPhone users who had updated their handset only for it to start giving a ‘no service’ message.

Tech world was full of interesting developments today. Samsung today, revealed the pre-booking dates for its newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones. Apart from that Amazon rolled out a new feature to its Prime Video platform that enables users to pick profile images that are inspired by Amazon Original shows and movies. In addition to that, Vivo launched the Y21 smartphone in India today. So, here’s what created a buzz in tech world today:

Twitter updates its DM feature

Twitter rolled out a massive update to its Direct Messages feature today. As a part of this update, Twitter users will now be able to share a Tweet with up to 20 people. Apart from that it is rolling out a new quick scroll button that will enable users to jump to the latest message in the conversation with one tap. These features are being rolled out on Twitter’s Android and iOS-based apps.

Samsung reveals pre-booking dates for Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones

Samsung today announced that it will host a live pre-book event for its newly-launched Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G smartphones at 6PM on August 23. Customers who pre-book either of the two-phones during this event will get early delivery of their selected smartphones. They will also be eligible to get free Galaxy SmartTag, Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G Flip Cover with S Pen and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G Silicon Cover with Ring.

Prime Video launches profile images inspired by Amazon Originals

Amazon Prime Video has added a new feature for its users that will enable them to customise their profile photos on the platform with faces of characters from Amazon Original productions including from shows like Fleabag, Marvellous Mrs Maisel and Jack Ryan.

Vivo Y21 launched in India

Vivo today launched the Vivo Y21 smartphone in India. The Vivo Y21 comes in two memory variants in India. There is a variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space that costs 15,490 in India. Price and availability of the 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage variant remains unknown at the moment.

iPhone owners plagued by 'no service' bug after iOS 14.7.1 upgrade

Apple recently rolled out the iOS 14.7.1 update on iPhones. This update has led to users complaining about a new bug. Users on Apple’s support forums are saying that iOS 14.7.1 has broken their iPhones causing a ‘no service’ issue. This has led to users being unable to connect to cell service.
