Realme is a name that is known for pocket-friendly and feature-stuffed smartphones that are stylish to look at. Lately, the company has also been expanding its footprint in the home appliance market by launching smart TVs in India. The company forayed in the smart TV market in India with the launch of two Realme Smart TV models -- a 32-inch variant at a price of ₹12,999 and a 43-inch variant at a price of ₹21,999. This year, Realme expanded its smart TV product portfolio further by launching the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV in India.
The 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV in India was launched in India alongside the Realme Buds Q2 TWS earbuds at a price of ₹18,999. To give you a quick brief update about its features, it is powered by MediaTek's 64-bit quad-core processor with support for 24W quad stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. It runs on Google's Android operating system and it features support for Bluetooth version 5.0 and WiFi among others for connectivity.
At first glance, it looks like nothing much has changed. But on taking a closer look, you'll understand that 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV has come a long way from where it was last year. While you do get a similar sound system and remote, Realme has improved the display slightly. Now the question remains: Is the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV worth a try? We will try to answer that and more in the review below.
Design
The overall design of the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV has remained unchanged compared to last year's 32-inch Realme smart TV. It features the same plastic body with Realme branding at the bottom that you saw last year. It has a slim frame with bezels on all four sides. And though the bezels in this year's 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV are a little more than what I would like to see in a smart TV, but it doesn't hinder the overall viewing experience, which is all that you can ask for in a smart TV at a such an affordable price point. On the back, you get multiple ports that enable users to connect this smart TV to a variety of devices. Apart from Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 5.0, you get three HDMI ports, two USB ports, one LAN port, one AV port, one digital audio out port and an ANT port.
The overall design of the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV is quite sturdy, which means that you don't have to worry about a gentle gail or slight vibrations caused due to closing a door, throwing it off balance at all. And if you decide to mount it on the wall, well, then you don't have to worry about anything.
Performance
Now, the most important part of this review: performance. But first, a quick rundown of the specifications. The 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with a screen viewing angle of 178 degrees. It is powered by the ARM Cortex A53 quad-core processor with Mali-470 MP3 GPU. This setup is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage space. It has 24W quad speakers with Android TV operating system, built-in Chromecast, and support for Google Assistant.
As far as the usage is concerned, the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV is a decent performer. Last year's Realme Smart TV offered HD resolution. This year, Realme has given its 32-inch smart TV a slight update in terms of the resolution by offering full HD. In effect, the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV offers a pleasurable viewing experience. The colours are on point and so are the brightness levels. Realme's Chroma Boost feature works well in bringing out the right saturation levels. And whether you are looking at it from the front or from the sides, Realme's new 32-inch smart TV offers a comfortable viewing experience throughout.
I watched a lot of travel documentaries on YouTube and TV series and movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video and it always gave me a comfortable experience both in terms of the display quality and the user interface usage.
Coming to the audio quality, Realme's 32-inch Smart full HD TV offers a decent audio experience if not an extraordinary one. The sound is loud and for most parts, it is clear, especially if you are listening to music or a movie or TV show at a lower volume. At higher volume, basically past the 50% mark, the audio quality gets a bit murky. The good thing is that for most parts you won't have to worry about crossing that threshold even if you have placed this TV in the spacious master bedroom of your house.
Lastly, the remote control. Realme's philosophy in this case is pretty simple: don't fix what's not broken. It's true for the remote that accompanies Realme's 32-inch Smart full HD TV. The remote is easy to use and for most parts, it works without any hiccups. However, I did face some issues while invoking Google Assistant using it. Barring that, it has been a smooth sail throughout.
Conclusion
Now the most important part of this review: Should you buy the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV or not?
Well, the answer is ‘yes'. The 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV is sturdy and it offers decent audio and video quality. The colours are just the right shade of bright and sound is clear for most parts. Overall, the 32-inch Realme Smart full HD TV is ideal for bedroom binging.
