The rugged Apple Watch, meant for extreme activities, has been launched at the Apple Far Out event today. Apart from the watch, there were the new iPhone 14 series with the iPhone 14 Plus, the upgraded iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, the Apple Watch Ultra left everyone in awe due to its premium features that are likely to appeal to fitness freaks, extreme athletes, including ultra marathoners, expert divers, and others. Reason? There are many. The 49mm titanium case, a new design, a customizable Action button, long battery life, and a wide range of features are packed into the new and rugged Apple Watch. But these premium features come at a massive premium! First, let's dive into the details of the new Apple Watch Ultra.

Apple Watch Ultra features, specs, and everything else

Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer introduced the Apple Watch Ultra, "Inspired by explorers and athletes from around the world, we created an entirely new category of Apple Watch designed for new and extreme environments — it's the most rugged and capable Apple Watch yet."

For these, for the first time ever in an Apple Watch, it got dual-frequency GPS that integrates both L1 and the latest frequency, L5. Also for your long trips, its battery life can be extended to reach up to 60 hours using Low Power Mode. Not just tracking, but it is designed for water sports, including scuba diving as it can go to a depth of 40 meters. For these, Apple Watch Ultra is certified to WR100 and EN 13319, an internationally recognized standard for dive accessories.

Apart from these, Apple Watch Ultra features all other connectivity, activity, and health features — from heart rate monitoring and the ECG and Blood Oxygen apps, to Activity rings along with additional health, safety, and navigation features. The whole new lineup can detect a severe car crash with Crash Detection.

What makes it more useful here is the new watchOS 9 support.

Apple Watch Ultra Price and availability

The new Apple Watch Ultra has been launched at a starting price of $799 (similar to iPhone 14 price) or Rs. 89,900. Additionally, three months of Apple Fitness+ are included along with the purchase of the Apple Watch Ultra.

Along with India, customers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the UAE, the UK, the US, and more than 40 other countries and regions can order Apple Watch Ultra starting today, with availability in stores beginning Friday, September 23.
