The iPhone 14 has finally arrived, but along with it came the Apple Watch Series 8! The spotlight during Apple Event “Far Out” was on the iPhone 14 series but Apple has also unveiled three new smartwatches this year. This is the Apple Watch Series 8 which is now official! Along with it, Apple has also introduced the Apple Watch Ultra version which can offer up to 60 hours of battery life and an affordable version - Apple Watch SE, after two years. We have seen the first Watch SE back in 2020. What's new on these Apple watches? Apple Watch Series 8 models
Apple introduced the new series while narrating some exciting and thrilling stories, that how an Apple Watch saved the life of number of users. Jeff Williams, Chief Operating Officer introduced the new Apple Watch Series 8.
There is also a Apple Watch SE, the affordable one. While, the new editing is the Apple Watch Ultra, which was earlier rumoured to be the rugged version.
Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE features
The new Apple Watch Series 8 comes with the new body temperature sensor as well as the new Cycle Tracking features for women health. It includes information about ovulation. However, this temperature sensor also gives a "retrospective estimate" of when you ovulated. Apple also ensure that health data is encrypted end-to-end, which will be accessible only via passcode Touch ID or Face ID.
Moreover, it also supports Car Crash detection via its three-axis gyroscope and a high-g-force accelerometer. It can detect three types of crashes - side impact, rear end collision and rollovers.
To keep the battery go on for the long time, it comes with Low Power Mode that can offer up to 36 hours of battery life.
While, the Apple Watch SE has the same crash detection feature. It has the same SoC as the Series 8, that means it is 20 percent faster than the previous version.
Apple Watch Ultra features
Apple Watch Ultra is for extreme athletes, including ultra marathoners, expert divers and others. Here, the side button is designed to work even when you are wearing gloves. Moreover, there are two speakers and microphones too to get good quality calls. Its case surrounds the front crystal to protect during extreme activities. It gets up to 36 hours of life on a single charge, while battery optimisation can help it to go up to 60 hours. Diving is possible with Ultra watch as it can goes to a depth of 40 meters, while it uses L1 and L5 GPS.
All three Apple watch will support the watchOS 9.
Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra Price
Apple Watch Series 8 launched in two variants at the starting price of $399 for GPS and $499 for cellular version. You will also be able to get three months of Fitness Plus free.
On the other hand, Apple Watch SE is now available at a price of just $249 for GPS and $299 for cellular variant.
While, to a surprise, the new Apple Watch Ultra has been launched at a starting price of $799.
