Xiaomi is a company that is known for offering a diverse portfolio of devices. Now, word is that the company is working on a pair of smart glasses with therapeutic properties.

As per a report by IT Home (via GizChina), Xiaomi has been granted a new patent that talks about a pair of smart glasses that integrate detection and treatment capabilities. The report says that Xiaomi's smart glasses will emit some therapeutic signals including photography signals and wave signals. These waves will be used to treat various health conditions such as brain diseases, mental diseases and eye fatigue.

Furthermore, states that the company's upcoming device will come with light therapy signals that will help in treating brain diseases or mental diseases. It will also come with sound wave signals that will help in treating mental illnesses and relieve headaches and fatigue. Magnetic waves or electromagnetic waves, on the other hand, will help in promoting blood circulation in the brain.

That said, while Xiaomi has been granted the patent, it doesn't guarantee the fact that Xiaomi will commercialise the device.

Interestingly, Xiaomi is not the only company that is planning to launch smart glasses. Reports have detailed that Apple is also planning to launch Apple Glasses in 2022. They are tipped to get AR/VR capabilities and come with Sony microOLEDs offering a resolution of 1280x960 pixels. The device's OLED microdisplays are likely to offer a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, a response speed of 0.01ms or less, and a wide colour gamut.
