Oppo showcases X 2021 rollable phone, AR Glass 2021, CybeReal AR app
At the event, the company also unveiled its 3+N+X technology development strategy, which includes the use of various technologies including AI, security and privacy, multimedia, and interconnectivity among others.
Oppo on Tuesday showcased three new concept devices at its Inno Day 2020 event. The devices that the company introduced today include the Oppo X 2021 rollable smartphone, the Oppo AR Glass 2021 and the Oppo CybeReal AR application.
At the event, the company also unveiled its 3+N+X technology development strategy wherein ‘3’ refers to the three underlying technologies, namely hardware, software and services technologies, ‘N’ refers to various technologies being used by the companies such as AI, security and privacy, multimedia, and interconnectivity, and ‘X refers to differentiated technologies and strategic resources such as the flash charge technology, which the company says foster innovation and improve user experience.
“OPPO uses technology to empower people to capture the beauty around them and to unleash their imagination of the future; thereby helping everyone get the best out of life. Accordingly, we decide to set forth the 3+N+X technology development strategy for OPPO’s long-term development,” Tony Chen, OPPO Founder and CEO said on the occasion.
Coming to the specific devices, the Oppo X 2021 rollable smartphone comes with a flexible 6.7-inch OLED display that opens up to become as large as 7.4 inches. It features the company’s three proprietary technologies, including the Roll Motor powertrain, 2-in-1 Plate, and self-developed Warp Track high-strength screen laminate.
The Oppo AR Glass 2021, on the other hand, features a compact and ultra-light design that is nearly 75% lighter than its predecessor. It is built with the Birdbath optical solution, enhancing the immersive experience. It features diverse sensors, including stereo fisheye camera, one ToF sensor, and one RGB camera.
Lastly, the CybeReal AR app is powered by real-time, spatial calculation technology that enables high-precision localisation and scene recognition, and it is supported by Oppo’s three core technologies, including accurately reconstructing the world to the centimeters, real-time high-precision localization, and Oppo Cloud.
