Until now, we have seen Samsung and Motorola launching foldable and scrollable smartphones. But nobody has come up with a rollable smartphone yet. Even the concepts are not out. However, it looks like LG might be the first to bring this tech in handsets. The firm, which has already launched its rollable TV before, has a new rollable phone that appeared in South Korea's carrier intranet database. Although nothing is official for now, the listing definitely gives us a hope of seeing a rollable phone, possibly next year.

This also falls in line with the previous rumours indicating that LG could launch such a device by June 2021. We may even see it demoing a similar tech at CES 2021, which will take place next month. The company, at last year's CES, showcased its rollable TV.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

The listing on South Korea's carrier intranet database was found by tipster @cozyplanes. On Twitter, the tipster also reveals the carrier model number – LM R910N along with the unlocked version's model number – OMD-LM-R910N. Nothing else was mentioned.

However, this is not the first time we're hearing about LG's rollable phone. A recent trademark filing seems to point out that the device might be called as LG Slide. This will be the second smartphone under LG's ‘Explorer Project'. Also rumoured is that the rollable OLED screen might be folded into the casing.

LG's recently launched LG Wing was the first under the ‘Explorer Project'. The Wing is a T-shape phone that comes with two screens. While the one at the front swivels to 90-degree, the second stays fixed, giving you some extra information.
