Apple iOS 15.2 update for iPhones is out, brings App Privacy Settings

Apple introduces iOS 15.2 update along with iPadOS 15.2, macOS Monterey 12.1 and watchOS 8.3. The updates are rolling out already.

Apple has launched a major OS update for all its devices. It has introduced iOS 15.2, iPadOS 15.2, macOS Monterey 12.1, as well as watchOS 8.3, tvOS 15.2, and HomePod Software Version 15.2 for its compatible devices. These updates will enable new features on the Apple devices, some of which were announced at the time of its Worldwide Developers' Conference (WWDC) 2021. 

iOS 15.2 update features 

The iOS 15.2 update will enable users to enjoy features such as SharePlay and Apple Music Voice Plan. It will also support App Privacy Report in Settings. This will help users to see how often the apps have accessed their location, photos, camera, microphone, contacts and more during the last week, and their network activity. In addition to these features, it will also bring message communication safety settings and safety warnings for parents along with improvements to the camera app, and Reminders and Notes apps.

One of the major features that Apple has released is Digital Legacy for Apple IDs. This will enable users to designate people as ‘Legacy Contacts' who can access their iCloud account and personal information in case of sudden demise or any accident.

macOS 12.1 features 

The macOS 12.1 Monterey will support SharePlay to provide users a synchronized experience in FaceTime with content from the Apple TV app, Apple Music, and other supported apps. This will enable users to get shared controls as well as a screen sharing feature so that everyone on a FaceTime call can look at photos and browse the web together.

It will also support features like Apple Music's Voice Plan, communication safety settings and safety warnings for parents in Messages, along with Digital Legacy for Apple IDs that are available to iOS 15.2. Additionally, Apple has also released updates to the Photos app where users can redesign the Memories feature with a new interactive interface. The users will also get a wide range of Memory types like additional international holidays, child-focused memories, trends over time, and improved pet memories. watchOS 8.3 features Similar to iOS 15.2 and macOS 12.1, watchOS 8.3 too will support Apple Music's Voice Plan as well as App Privacy Report. Additionally, watchOS 8.3 also includes fixes for an issue wherein notifications interrupts Mindfulness sessions unexpectedly.
