Apple’s MagSafe Duo charger will cost $129, but we don’t know when it’s launching

Apple has also announced the prices for its leather iPhone 12 cases.

Apple has started the pre-orders for the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 12 Mini and alongside that it has also revealed the prices and release details of the next lot of iPhone 12 accessories. This lot includes the new MagSafe Duo charger and leather cases.

The new MagSafe Duo charger will cost $129 ( ₹9,543 approx) and includes the charger that can charge both the Apple Watch and the iPhone at the same time and a one-meter-long USB-C to Lighting Cable. The power brick is not included in that $129 and Apple recommends you buy the 20W USB-C power brick for $19.

While the product page has been updated with price details, there is no mention of when the charger is going to be available.

The regular MagSafe charger costs $39 and the USB-C Apple Watch charger costs $29, if you add the $20 power brick to both, you are still paying more for the “convenience factor” of the MagSafe Duo charger. However, compared to the existing $79 Apple Watch charging dock, it is a better deal.

The new leather sleeve case also comes with a $129 price tag and costs the same across all the four iPhone 12 models. The leather cases will come in four colours - brown, red, pink and blue and offer both an interior pocket to keep your credit card and a matching wrist strap. The leather case works with the MagSafe wireless charger so you can juice-up the phone while it's kept aside.

The leather cases too are listed as “coming soon” and there's no availability date provided yet.
