Earlier this year, Poco had introduced its budget smartphone Poco M4 under Rs. 15,000. With a 90Hz AMOLED display and MediaTek Helio G96 chipset under the hood, the last Poco M4 offered a basic experience to cater to daily requirements. Now, Poco is confirmed to roll out its successor, the Poco M5 series, which is scheduled to launch in global markets on September 5. With some notable upgrades in performance and a new leather-like design, Poco M5 will hit the market in the next few days. Here's what all you need to know about this budget smartphone Poco M5 - from its expected specs, price and variants.

Poco M5 expected specs

The upcoming M-series will release two new smartphones - Poco M5 and Poco M5s. However, it seems like Indian users will only get the Poco M5 model. Poco hasn't kept any secrets regarding its design. At the back, the phone has a leather finish along with a large horizontal housing for cameras, which will feature a triple camera sensor and an LED flash. There is still no information available on camera specs, but the previous Poco M4 had a 64MP led triple camera setup.

Besides these, it has a water drop notch on the front for the selfie camera. Poco has confirmed that it has a 6.58-inches FHD+ display which will feature a 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It will support Widevine L1 support which means you will be able to enjoy OTT content in HD. Poco M5 is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 chipset coupled with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB storage.

Poco M5 expected price

Of course, the price of the Poco M5 will be revealed during the global launch on September 5. However, a 91Mobile report quoted some sources, which predict that the Poco M5 will be available in two storage variants - 4GB RAM along with 64GB storage and 128GB storage models. As per the report, the entry variant may get a price tag of EUR 189 (around Rs. 15,000), and the later version will cost around EUR 209 (approx Rs. 16,600). The report further confirmed that it will be available in Green Yellow, and Black colour options.
