The Oppo A16 smartphone has been launched with the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC under the hood and it is a budget-friendly offering that succeeds the Oppo A15 that was launched last year. The Oppo A16 launch happened on Monday. The new Oppo A16 comes with a waterdrop style notch on the screen for the selfie camera and the display has thin bezels and a thick chin. It also packs a 5,000 mAh battery which supports Smart Battery Protection features.

The new Oppo A16 is priced at ₹13,990 and there is only one variant available - a 4GB/64GB. You can buy the Oppo A16 from offline retailers and online from Amazon. There are two colour options available on the Oppo A16 - a Crystal Black and a Pearl Blue.

Oppo A16 specs and features

The Oppo A16 is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 on top. There is a 6.52-inch HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) LCD display with Eye Care mode. Powering the Oppo A16 is the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC paired with a 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. This is expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card.On the back of the Oppo A16 there is a triple camera set-up consisting of a 13MP primary camera, 2MP bokeh sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front there is an 8MP selfie shooter.

Connectivity options on the Oppo A16 include a Bluetooth v5, dual-band WiFi, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.
